Murder on the dance floor!

Ocean Village commissioned the Murder on the Dance Floor research after receiving requests from passengers for simple dance classes to learn a few fool-proof moves to help them look better on the dance floor. As a result, Ocean Village has introduced Zumba on board. Zumba is a new Latin inspired fitness regime which uses a combination of a six easy Latin dance steps to create a simple dance system that enables you to move more naturally and rhythmically on the dance floor. Zumba has already taken America by storm and, according to Ocean Village’s report, should do the same in the UK:

* 1 in 4 Brits would like to learn a few easy Latin dance steps to help them look better on the dance floor
* 1 in 5 Brits would prefer to learn modern Latin dances rather than old fashioned ballroom dances
* A whopping 62% of women would rather lose weight by learning to dance than by joining a gym
* A third of Brits would secretly join a dance club to learn a few moves to surprise their partners

Says Nick Lighton, Managing Director, Ocean Village, ‘Shows like Strictly Come Dancing have a massive effect on the take up of dance classes on board our ships. We always know when it’s Strictly season because we have people queuing to take our salsa classes. Now that we offer Zumba onboard our passengers can learn a few new dance steps and get really fit into the bargain. With Strictly only in its forth week, we expect the take up to be huge going forward.’

Zumba classes are available to book onboard both Ocean Village and Ocean Village Two.
